Liverpool's Andrew Robertson has enjoyed a meteoric rise since he arrived at Liverpool from Hull City in the 2017 summer transfer window, and his presence has made Alberto Moreno almost surplus to requirements at Anfield.

The gulf in class between Jurgen Klopp's choices at left-back is one of the biggest within his squad. Whilst Robertson is consistently solid defensively, a reliable out ball and a dangerous threat from crossing positions, Moreno is inconsistent and defensively flawed.

Klopp's utmost faith in Robertson and complete distrust in Moreno is evident by the fact the former has started all 4 of Liverpool's opening Premier League fixtures, with the latter yet to feature for the club.

The early signs suggest that Moreno is effectively finished at Anfield, which means Liverpool will be in the hunt for a new left-back over the course of the next two transfer windows.

With that being said, there's absolutely no doubt that Liverpool should have their eye on a rising star whom Klopp recently declared his admiration for, namely Ben Chilwell.

Ahead of Liverpool's trip to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium prior to the international break, Klopp stated "Chilwell massive player for them. Great future, looks big talent, is a good player”, as per the Daily Mirror.

The 21-year-old left-back has risen through the academy system at Leicester City where he has impressed with his marauding performances.

His willingness to get forward at every available opportunity is one of the defining characteristics of his game and one which is well aligned with the philosophy which Klopp is attempting to implement at Liverpool.

The Reds are unlikely to be able to sign Chilwell for the type of bargain price they signed Robertson for but, considering his enormous scope for improvement and Moreno's shortcomings in recent years, there's no doubt it would be a price worth paying.
