The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been counting down the minutes as of late as they wait for their club to make an announcement about their next manager. Marcelo Bielsa is the name on everyone’s lips and if the Argentine does come he’ll be the club’s most high profile appointment since they were relegated from the Premier League.
Money won't be an issue for Marcelo Bielsa. Happy with the package Leeds are offering. But still negotiating over plans, infrastructure and the way he wants the club to function under him. #lufc

The fact that Bielsa is reportedly (as per Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post) happy with the money being offered means that he must be serious about taking over at the club. The Argentine tactician has previously held roles as Argentine and Chile national manager as well as managing Lazio, Atheltic Bilbao and Marseille at club level. Now though, the 62-year-old is set to take up his first job in English football.
Considering his high profile appointments in the past, it seems strange that he would be taking over at Elland Road. However, it seems that the challenge of getting The Whites back into the Premier League is one that Bielsa would relish. The Argentine most recently managed at LOSC Lille but left the job in November last year after just four months in charge, something that Leeds won’t want to see happen in this role.

I’d love him to come straight in and ban every single player from social media no exceptions

Rita should concentrate on youth recruitment where he has been very successful

Absolutely love this. Give him the whole club and let him do anything he wants. pic.twitter.com/g7oFIn18C7

Money not an issue and lufc mentioned in the same sentence is a phrase I’m not use to

Orta will be having sleepless nights now

It's so refreshing having a potential manager come in who knows what he wants & how he wants to run it. Sounds like Orta will have to take a back seat. #lufc

The Leeds fans will be delighted that the talks have reached this stage, with many of them believing the stumbling block would be the money that Leeds offered Bielsa. Now though, it seems like there’s a clear route for Bielsa to taking over at the club.
