Chelsea confirmed the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Oscar on Wednesday for a reported £25m from Internacional.
A statement on the official club site read:
“Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Oscar”.
Earlier in the week Oscar was quoted stating:
“If I go to Chelsea it will be a dream come true, They are one of the greatest teams in Europe. I am confident I will have a good Olympics and, if I go to Chelsea, I will arrive feeling good.”
As one of the most drawn-out transfer sagas comes to an end with the signing of Oscar the departure of Kevin De Bruyne on loan seems imminent.
De Bruyne joined Chelsea last January for a reported £7m from Belgian club Genk before being immediately loaned back.
Some was expecting, or hoping, De Bruyne would break into the Chelsea first team this season but with the new additions in Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and now Oscar it seems the club feel a loan move would result in more first team opportunities.
German club Werder Bremen are the reported destination, Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs told Kicker when asked about interest in De Bruyne:
“I can confirm that. We are to work out a loan switch.
“We have had many discussions and some talks lately and I feel we are at an advanced level regarding this loan deal.”Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
