‘Our doctors are the worst in the league’ – Tottenham fans react after club suffer another injury blow

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned about the number of injuries that their side has suffered this season. Throughout the course of the campaign, a number of regular starters have missed game time, and whilst that is to be expected to a point, the length of some of the problems have concerned our resident Lilywhites.

Toby Alderweirled has been perhaps the most significant absentee for Spurs so far, with the Belgian out of action since November. He’s yet to return, and many of our resident Lilywhites are desperate for him to bring his defensive class back to the back line.

Another absentee that has been out of action for a while is Harry Winks. The Englishman hasn’t played since Boxing Day, and whilst many have been hoping for an imminent return, that now looks unlikely to be the case. According to the Daily Mail, the Englishman is set to be out of action until the end of the month at the very least after suffering a setback in his quest to return to fitness.

Though less of a miss than Alderweireld, Winks had emerged as one of Tottenham’s most important players prior to his injury, and with so many important games on the horizon, the sooner he can return the better for Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham fans have been discussing the news all day in the Transfer Tavern, and the fans over on Twitter have been having their say too. Unsurprisingly, much of it is negative, with fans desperate for their star midfielder to return. One or two have even had a pop at the Tottenham medical team as Spurs’ injury problems continue to worsen.
