‘Overrated, overhyped’, ‘Flop’ – Fans slate Man United’s £81m-rated midfielder on Twitter

The Manchester United fans were delighted in the Transfer Tavern this weekend after watching their side record victory over Huddersfield Town in the 5th round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho took his side to The John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday evening for a repeat of the fixture which saw them suffer their first defeat of the season back in October 2017. However, United avoided a second shock defeat against The Terriers on this occasion, as a brace from Romelu Lukaku proved to be the difference between the two side’s.

Despite the fact United travel to Spain this week to face Sevilla in the last-sixteen of the Champions League, Mourinho opted to start a side that was almost at full strength against Huddersfield. The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Nemanja Matic and of course United’s goal-scoring hero Romelu Lukaku were all included from the outset, however, Paul Pogba was a notable absentee.

The French international was not even selected for Mourinho’s match day squad due to illness – a fact which has served to intensify speculation in the media regarding both his importance to the club and his future at Old Trafford.

In the aftermath of proceedings, Sky Sports Sunday Supplement’s Twitter page asked supporters to voice their opinion on the quality of Pogba’s performances so far this season.

In reponse to the tweet, Pogba received plenty of criticism from supporters from a variety of clubs who believe that the standard of his performances are far from extraordinary, or at the level which United fans should expect to see from their 24-year-old midfielder.

Here’s what fans have had to say about Paul Pogba’s form for The Red Devils so far this season…
