The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to former Chelsea and Leicester ‘keeper Mark Schwarzer as he delivered his verdict on the club’s sale of Philippe Coutinho. Whilst speaking on Sky Sports’ The Debate, the Aussie claimed that the selling the Brazilian has turned out to be a blessing in disguise given the galvanising effect it’s had on the rest of Liverpool’s front line.
COUTINHO SALE A GOOD THING?
The sale of Philippe Coutinho has been a “blessing in disguise” for Liverpool due to the galvanising effect it has had on their forward line, says Mark Schwarzer.

Philippe Coutinho joined an exclusive list of players signed for over £100 million when he made the switch from Anfield to the Nou Camp in January. Although Liverpool at the time couldn’t imagine life at Anfield with the little Brazilian, the club’s football has reached new levels since his departure. Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have all stepped up to reach new levels since the 25-year-old made his Anfield bow and the fans will be hoping it can continue.
Coutinho has had a slow start to life in Catalonia. The creative midfielder has netted three times and set up a further two goals in his 13 appearances for Barcelona and is cup-tied in the Champions League. The Barca fans are yet to see Coutinho at the peak of his powers as he was for Liverpool for a number of years, but the presence of former Red, Luis Suarez is sure to be helping as Coutinho settles in at the Nou Camp. Whilst the Liverpool fans aren’t missing Coutinho just yet, they’ll be hoping that the rest of their attacking force can keep up their form into next season and beyond as the target a return to Europe’s very elite.
With that in mind, here’s our resident Reds’ verdict on Schwarzer’s Coutinho comments:

Mane has more goals and assists so far this season, than Couts did in any season. It’s worked out for the best

Countinho was tired of this mantra
'Next year gonna be our year'..
at least he's assured of two titles at the end of the season. Lipoo playing well but still won't win the UCL

Don't know why this is a surprise as the results without Coutinho in the team were better than when he was. Massively over rated and now barca are finding out they paid 100m over the top.

Definitely not a good thing, but definitely hasn't halted our season in any way

Not in this current injury / suspension crisis

I have no hard feelings. Can't understand why he would leave & be cup tied. He helped Liverpool into the champions league, sad he doesn't get to share the journey.
