Pablo Zabaleta fires warning to his West Ham team-mates

West Ham United have had a terrible start to their Premier League campaign, in which they have failed to secure at least a point from their first four matches.

And, according to a report by The Sun, Pablo Zabaleta has fired a warning to his team-mates as they head into the international break.

The left-back, who joined the Hammers from Manchester City in 2017, has told them that they are not too good to be relegated and need to show the fight and desire on the pitch moving forward.

“We have seen good teams go down before so we must fight,” he told The Sun.

“We know we have got the quality in the team but the players need to put in good performances.”

Zabaleta, who is valued at £4.5million by Transfermarkt, worked with Manuel Pellegrini during their time together at San Lorenzo and Manchester City, where the duo helped guide the club to a Premier League title, however, it looks as though they could be facing a different fight this season, despite having splashed the cash on a number of quality players.

The Verdict:

Zabaleta is completely right and the warning will need to have hit the players as quickly as possible.

West Ham will return to action from the international break against Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United and you would feel that they will need to pick up points somewhere from those games.

On paper, the Hammers have a squad that should be challenging for a place in European competition, however, with the way they have started, it looks as though they could be fighting for survival once again.
