The club then provided an update via Twitter, stating that the right-back will train with the south London side for the rest of the month, and it was accompanied by a video of him training with the Eagles’ squad.
He has featured 14 times for England, came from the Palace academy and made his professional debut in 2009, per Transfermarkt. He went on to feature at right-back for the Eagles 137 times before moving to Southampton and then Liverpool, per Transfermarkt.
However despite the 29-year-old still training at the club and being linked with a full return to Selhurst Park, the latest news suggests that if Palace want to sign him on a free, they will face competition, as Bordeaux are reportedly also interested in the defender, according to Sud-Ouest, via Palace Xtra.
Should Crystal Palace sign Clyne?
Many Eagles fans have been reacting on Twitter and they still seem confident that the south Londoners are favourites to sign the defender. With him starting his career at the club, it is understandable to see why they think so.
How Crystal Palace fans reacted following the latest Clyne transfer update:
He’s coming to Palace I really doubt he’s gonna turn us down for many other clubs
