Palace fans take to Twitter to get behind misfiring Benteke

Crystal Palace fans have finally got a striker who looks worth his salt in their new loanee Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian has grabbed two goals in his first five Premier League appearances for the club, and the fans are all desperate for their other Belgian striker, Christian Benteke, to start banging in the goals too.

The Belgian striker has had a torrid time pretty much since he left Aston Villa. This season has seen the 28-year-old, who should be in his pomp as a player, make 11 appearances this season to no avail. However, the Belgian still has the backing of the Eagles and the fans are all desperate to see him break his duck and grab a goal at some point between now and the end of the season.
Last season saw the ex-Aston Villa favourite score a measly three goals in 31 games in the Premier League and that’s a tally that no Palace fan, or Roy Hodgson or that matter, will be pleased with. It’s a good thing that the fans have Wilfried Zaha and the new addition of Batshuayi to grab the goals at the top end of the pitch, although with the support they’re giving Benteke it’s surely a matter of time until he bags his first of the season.

Ohhhh Christian Benteke!!!

The Eagles love the idea of Benteke grabbing a goal or two next weekend against their biggest rivals Brighton, although given his current hit rate it’s looking unlikely.
