Pardew sets sights on former player in bid to ward off Palace relegation

According to ChronicleLive, Crystal Palace want to sign Paul Dummett from Newcastle United with our resident Eagles fans in the Transfer Tavern hoping they can get something over the line.

Palace have been struggling of late after a run of six straight defeats brought them down towards the relegation zone before a win against Southampton and draw away at Hull at the weekend finally brought that to an end.

And ahead of the January window it appears┬áthat Alan Pardew has targeted defensive acquisitions in a bid to bolster their survival hopes with Dummett’s name in the hat.

The pair have worked together, of course, during the Palace manager’s stint in the north east and a reunion could now be on the cards as Newcastle aim to return to the top flight.

The Magpies are being kept honest in the Championship title race by Brighton this season and will themselves be looking to strengthen, our landlord thinks, ahead of the second half of the campaign.

He also thinks Dummett would be a good signing in January for Palace who are desperately in need of clean sheets at the moment.

Would you take Dummett, Palace fans? Let us know below!
