The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty confident ahead of their upcoming clash with Man Utd, and it seems as though ex-Blue Pat Nevin is feeling the same way…
Writing as part of his regular column on Chelsea’s official website, Pat Nevin has revealed that the Blues may well have the edge over Man Utd this weekend. Beyond their current league standing, Nevin thinks that Man Utd’s European commitments could cost them.
He said: “Manchester United is going to be another tester. Jose’s side have European interests and it is maybe another little bit of luck in our favour that we get them when they have been travelling again, but you have to take advantage of any little breaks”.
Indeed, in Premier League football, the smallest details often have huge results – and the fact that Chelsea will have had a few days off could be crucial.
Of course, the Blues have done pretty well against the Red Devils this season – winning twice – and Jose Mourinho will likely be desperate to get one back on his old team.
Our landlord thinks that if Chelsea can win the game against Man Utd, the Premier League title could very well be theirs.
The good news for Man Utd is that star goalkeeper David De Gea looks likely to return to the side this weekend, with the Spaniard recovering after missing their game against Sunderland over the weekend.
