Paul Pogba discusses Man Utd role

The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that he will find his form soon…

Paul Pogba has had a disappointing start to life in Manchester. Brought to the Premier League for a world record fee, the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern were expecting big things; but they have, in reality, seen very little.

Looking ineffective defensively and poor offensively; Pogba has been made to look very average in the Premier League – and now, for the first time, the Frenchman has revealed how the position that Mourinho is playing him in is affecting his game.

He said (quotes sourced from the Manchester Evening News): “I am a player who would rather go forward. The coach gave me instructions, I try to follow them”.

However, Pogba admitted that it does affect him: “I have to retrieve balls and make defensive efforts. It costs me a bit to play differently”.

This appears to be a direct message to Jose Mourinho, with the Frenchman keen to see his Portuguese manager give him a chance further up the field.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the position that Mourinho puts certain players in has been questioned. Ryan Giggs recently spoke to ITV (via ESPN) about Rooney’s poor form, and he blamed it on the Man Utd boss’ insistence on moving the striker around.

Is Mourinho behind the poor form?

Our landlord isn’t too sure. He is, however, still backing Pogba to come good, but he has not been at all impressed with him so far.

The United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are beginning to sour on the most expensive player in the world…
