With Zenit St Petersburg, Lokomotiv Moscow, Spartak Moscow and Sporting Lisbon showing an interest in him, Roman Pavlyuchenko has unleashed a stinging attack on Tottenham in an effort to leave the club in January.
The Russian striker, who has scored 15 goals in 42 Spurs appearances, has described his situation at the club as painful having not started a game in the Premier League all season with Defoe, Crouch and Keane all ahead of him.
“You cannot even imagine how tired I am of sitting on the bench. I so much want to play football! Do you want to hear the most recent joke in London? It is this: Harry Redknapp put Roman Pavlyuchenko into the starting line up. For me it would be funny if it was not so painful.”
The Russian also accused Redknapp of mocking him adding:
“On the eve of the Cup match with Manchester United on December 1 he (Redknapp) asked me to come to see him. He said: ’Tomorrow there will be a chance to show your best in front of 75,000 spectators. We need to use it.’ And he used it by keeping me on the bench all 90 minutes.”
This outburst will surely see the want away striker leave these shores but with Tottenham unwilling to send him out on loan any of his suitors will have to cough up some cash for the striker Spurs paid £13.8m for in 2008.
