Arsenal cruised to victory in the opening game of the UEFA Europa League with a 4-2 victory over Vorskla Poltava.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring for the Gunners before Danny Welbeck netted his first goal of the season to double the advantage just after half-time. Aubameyang grabbed his brace just eight minutes later, and Mesut Ozil added the scoreline with 15 minutes remaining to guarantee all three points. However, the Gunners will be disappointed to concede two late goals against their Ukrainian opponents.

Although the transfer window is closed, Unai Emery could still use some new players to help Arsenal return to the top of the Premier League table. The Spaniard strengthened heavily in the summer window but failed to land a winger to replace Alexis Sanchez. Landing a new forward in January could help the Gunners climb the standings.

One man they should be targeting is Boca Juniors wonderkid – Cristian Pavon. Valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest prospect emerging from Argentina, and a move to Europe seems to be his next move. Pavon made 28 appearances in the Argentina Premier League last season, scoring six goals and registering 11 assists. The youngster has made a blistering start to the new season, with two goals in just four starts this year.

After earning a place in Argentina’s national team, moving to Arsenal could be perfect for his development. Primarily a right winger, Pavon is also comfortable on the left or through the middle and would add another dimension to Emery’s attack. He possesses terrific pace and excellent dribbling ability – averaging 2.5 successful dribbles per game last season (WhoScored).

It won’t be long before one of Europe’s elite come calling for his services, Arsenal must ensure they beat them to the punch.
