‘Pay whatever it takes’ – Tottenham fans demand acquisition of £22.5m-rated wonderkid on Twitter

The Tottenham fans are feeling confident in the Transfer Tavern ahead of their side’s FA Cup replay against Rochdale on Wednesday evening, but the fans have turned their attention away from the match and towards the summer transfer window in the last 24 hours.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Tottenham are ready to bid up to £35 million to secure the services of Fulham’s emerging wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon, although their London-rivals value the 17-year-old closer to £50 million. The same report claims that The Lilywhites may have to go head to head with Manchester United for his signature, however, Pochettino’s history with nurturing young English players could swing the race in Tottenham’s favour.

In response to the news, the vast majority of Spurs supporters have called for their club to do everything they can to land one of England’s most exciting and highly-regarded young talents.

So far this season, Sessegnon (valued at £22.5 million by Transfermarkt) has played nearly every minute of Fulham’s Championship campaign, and his performances have been instrumental in enabling The Cottagers to climb into 5th place.

In 34 league appearances, Sessegnon has notched an impressive 13 goals and provided 4 assists for his teammates from both left-back and left-midfield, so it is no wonder his stock has risen exponentially in the last six months.

Regardless of the enormity of his potential price-tag, the Tottenham fans would love to see Fulham’s prize possession arrive in North-London next summer, and they have taken to Twitter to express that opinion.

Here’s what the supporters have had to say in response to the most recent reports concerning Sessegnon’s future…
