West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini can help to bring a number of big-name players to the London Stadium this summer.
The Chilean was appointed as the new manager of the Hammers last month when David Moyes left the club and has already been busy looking for a number of targets to help the club achieve their aims of playing European football.
Pellegrini has already drawn up a list of targets, with Felipe Anderson leading the list, and it looks as though he is set to try and compete with Premier League giants for a highly-rated midfielder.
According to a report in the Sun, the Hammers are ready to challenge Chelsea to the signing of Jean Michael Seri from Nice, who is thought to be in advanced talks already with the Blues. It is believed the player has a release clause of £35million and the Irons are ready to try and hijack the move.
Indeed, Pellegrini is believed to want to capture the Irons faithful’s imagination and a deal for someone like Seri certainly would go a long way into doing that.
The West Ham fans in the Tavern will be delighted that the club are looking at some impressive targets this summer and will hope the lure of Pellegrini can help them get the deals over the line.
The Hammers have already signed Ryan Fredericks from Fulham and are thought to be in talks with SS Lazio for Anderson and the locals will hope they can beat a number of high-profile clubs to the signature of Seri.
