Two of the most notable free agents that are currently available are Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri, who have both been linked with West Ham.

The thing that both these players have in common, other than the fact that they are without clubs, is that they were with West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini during his spell at Man City. Not only that, but both players thrived under the Chilean while at the Etihad. Both the Ivorian and Frenchman's best seasons came in the 2013/14 Premier League title winning season.

In fact, Toure had one of the most iconically successful seasons under Pellegrini, where he was up there as one of the best players on the planet. He, and Nasri, obviously got on well with the Chilean, and there is nothing to say that they would not be able to rekindle that relationship at the London Stadium.

Of course, Toure is now 35, and Nasri 31, and they may be well past their prime, but Pellegrini is one manager that may be able to get the best out of them. However, the manager has remained coy over this deal, not only because he feels that his squad is strong enough at the moment after a big summer of spending, but perhaps the two would be a huge burden on the wage bill.

Nonetheless, this is an example of how Pellegrini's tenure at Man City, and the success that he had, could be a catalyst for some very intriguing signings at the London Stadium in the future.
