England boast various Premier League stars in their side such as Raheem Sterling, Dele Alli and match-winner Harry Kane.
But it was Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who spent the season out on loan at Crystal Palace, who has grabbed the attention of England supporters. Indeed, Loftus-Cheek replaced Alli in the 80th minute with the Three Lions searching for a winner and had a huge impact on the game alongside fellow substitute Marcus Rashford.
The 22-year-old added much needed creativity with his directness, bursting runs and pullbacks into the box to the delight of many – in particular, West Ham fans – who are now calling for their club to sign the midfielder from London rivals Chelsea.
West Ham could certainly do with someone of Loftus-Cheek’s quality. Other than Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini, the Hammers have a lack of technically gifted players in their squad, which is why new manager Manuel Pellegrini is determined to bring in the likes of Javier Pastore and Felipe Anderson to the club.
Both Pastore and Anderson would give a much-needed boost to West Ham’s attack, but Loftus-Cheek is definitely an option for Pellegrini to explore if he’s also looking to bring in midfielders this summer.
Take a look at West Ham supporters’ thoughts on Loftus-Cheek below…
Loftus-Cheek looks like he should be a starter….Pellegrini should definetley be looking into his availability
