Pellegrini weighing up move for Premier League ace as club face mass exodus

West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern have had a mixed summer so far, although a number of the locals will admit it has been a lot better than it has been in previous years.

The Hammers appointed Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager following the departure of David Moyes and he has been steadily rebuilding his side to ensure that he can take the team to a place within European football.

The Chilean has been strengthening key areas of the field with the additions of Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks, however, he still has other areas he would like to bolster but has struggled to get deals done.

Felipe Anderson is one, Bernard is thought to be another, which according to reports in the Guardian, has led the former Premier League manager to take a look closer to home. It is being suggested that Pellegrini could be about to weigh up a move for Everton’s Yannick Bolasie, as the Toffees prepare a mass clear-out.

The DR Congo winger is thought to be surplus to requirements at Goodison Park and the Hammers will feel he could be a suitable replacement for Manuel Lanzini, who is expected to miss the majority of the season with a serious injury.

Landlord’s Verdict

Many of the locals in the Tavern would consider Bolasie to be a bit of a risk following his performances last season, however, he had just come back from a devastating injury and will be looking to kick-start his career once again.

When at Crystal Palace, the winger showed what he could do with the ball down the flanks and earned the big-money move to the Toffees and now the Hammers will hope he can do the same should he join them at the London Stadium.
