Manchester City have been their dominant selves in the current campaign as they continue to chase down a second successive Premier League title.
The Citizens will be desperate to successfully defend their Premier League title after such an enjoyable campaign last time out, but they do face stiff competition from a number of clubs. However, Pep Guardiola appears to have turned his attention to one of his first team members recently, as according to Sky Sports, the City boss believes that Phil Foden is ready for an England call-up.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes 18-year-old midfielder Phil Foden is ready to play for England.
Despite there being an emphasis on selecting young players, Gareth Southgate decided that Foden had not played enough to merit a place in the squad.
“We do our best. I do my best and I think Phil is ready. I don’t have doubts.
“His work ethic is excellent and he will have a lot of minutes this season and after that Gareth has his own decision.”
Phil Foden is arguably one of the hottest prospects in the whole of English football and will no doubt play a huge part in the future of the club.
Indeed, the youngster has come on leaps and bounds under the guidance of Pep Guardiola and still has plenty of potential to be unlocked, so an international call-up will definitely be in the offing at some point in the future.
