Arsenal

Perfect weekend: Arsenal

Perfect weekend: Arsenal
Arsenal have looked completely redefined under the guidance of Unai Emery recently as they continue to hunt down a top four spot.

Indeed, the Gunners started the current campaign off in a disappointing manner but they now appear to be heading in the right direction, with a seven-game unbeaten streak in all competitions.

The London club will be looking to build on their recent results when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend. It’s vital that the Gunners can continue to ensure consistency by securing all three points against tough opposition, with the points going a long way towards pushing for a top four spot.

Of course, picking up maximum points and climbing into the top four would be the ideal situation.

With that in mind, here is the perfect weekend for the Gunners…

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR LOSE

Tottenham Hotspur are currently joint on points with Arsenal after seven games, with the race for a top four spot beginning to hot up at this early stage.

Emery’s side will be praying that Cardiff City do them a favour this weekend by securing all three points at Wembley Stadium, as this would allow Arsenal to climb into the top four and create some breathing distance.

Sadly, the Gunners missed out in the race for Champions League football under Arsene Wenger last season, but they could definitely take a step in the right direction if things go their way this weekend.

MESUT OZIL BAGS AGAIN

Mesut Ozil has been heavily criticised over the past couple of seasons for his efforts in North London, with a lack of determination and laziness being highlighted.

However, the German has already managed to find the back of the net three times in the current campaign, in comparison to the five that were produced last season.

So, after his goal against Watford last time out at the Emirates, supporters will be hoping that the German can continue to enjoy a rich vein of form by getting himself on the scoresheet once again, as he could be the difference between a top four spot and Europa League football if he continues to thrive.
