Perfect with Pogba: The 1 player Man Utd should sign to bring the best out of their star man

Paul Pogba hasn’t had the easiest season at Old Trafford, with the French midfielder clearly still finding his feet at Man Utd. Still, the fans in the Transfer Tavern are unanimous in that they all think that, on his day, he is their best player.

He has everything that it takes to be a top midfielder. He is strong, he is tall, he can pass, he can tackle, he can shoot. There is truly nothing he can’t do.

However, Man Utd’s current team isn’t set up to allow him to excel, and that’s something that needs to change. The Red Devils need to bring in a player that can help the Frenchman impress in midfield, and one option that could be perfect is Wilfred Ndidi.

The Leicester┬áCity midfielder has taken over from N’Golo Kante at the King Power Stadium, and he’s done so with tremendous effect. A brilliant tackler of the ball, he is sensational at breaking up play and moving it forward, and that’s exactly what Man Utd are lacking at the moment.

Pogba is best used as more of an offensive player, and with just Nemanja Matic in the team alongside him, he’s often forced to track back and defend. This, naturally, means that he struggles to make as much of an impact going forward – and that’s a problem for the club.

If they were to land Ndidi, though, that could all change. He, alongside Matic, would be able to handle the bulk of the defensive duties, allowing Pogba to be more expressive going forward. It would also be of a benefit to Matic, as it would allow him to make use of his fantastic range of passing.

With Ndidi in the team, Pogba could move out to the left side of a midfield three – where he is most efficient – and Man Utd could finally see him return to his best.
