Manchester City are believed to be closing in on Roma’s versatile midfielder David Pizarro, according to the Mail. The midfielder has only made 7 appearances for the Giallorossi this season and is available on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent deal.
City boss Roberto Mancini coached Pizarro during his time at Inter Milan and he sees the Chilean midfielder’s versatility as something that will bolster his side’s title challenge.
Pizarro’s agent Beppe Bozzo has dismissed initial concerns over the player’s ability to gain a work permit and revealed the player will fly to Manchester this afternoon.
Bozzo is quoted as saying, “The relative problems in the work permit have been overcome and Manchester City will request dispensation relative to his national team appearances. We will fly to England at 2pm [1pm GMT].”
Other clubs have been said to be interested in the 32-year-old, most notably Italian giants Juventus but it seems that Pizarro will be moving to the Etihad Stadium.
