Leicester City’s incredible campaign will inevitably leads to nervy times in the Football Transfer Tavern as European giants will target their key players – but Claudio Ranieri has a target in mind should someone sign N’Golo Kante.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been immense for the Foxes this season after signing for just £5.4 million from Caen last summer and his impressive debut season in Premier League is set to make him a target for several Champions League sides.
But Ranieri has a trick up his sleeve if Kante does depart the King Power Stadium because according to The Sun, the Tinkerman has set his sights on Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.
A year ago you would never imagine the Foxes being in contention of signing someone of Carvalho’s calibre, as he has been a long term target for both Manchester United and Arsenal.
But now those two sides have turned their attention to Kante, so it is likely that Leicester would use the money gained from Kante to sign Carvalho, who would be available for £20 million.
