Leicester fans are on cloud nine in the Football Transfer Tavern, and more good news has come their way as they are favourites to land Feyenoord’s highly-rated youngster.
According to the Daily Mail, Leicester are keeping tabs on Tonny Vilhena, who is out of contract at the end of season.
If Claudio Ranieri can pull off this free transfer it would be another masterstroke from the Tinkerman, because there is a lot of competition for the 21-year-old.
Southampton are very keen to capture the midfielder, especially with Ronald Koeman’s strong knowledge of the Eredivisie, which is where he signed Jordy Clasie and Graziano Pelle from.
Vilhena is also being tracked by West Brom, Sunderland and Swansea but Saints have been considered favourites after being long-term admirers of the midfielder.
But with Leicester qualifying for the Champions League and on the brink of winning the Premier League they are now in the hot seat to sign Vilhena, who has scored five goals in 25 appearances this season.
