West Ham remain rock-bottom of the Premier League and without any confidence whatsoever, despite many dubbing them for at least a top 10 finish this season.

Manuel Pellegrini was a well-received appointment but all football fans as they swapped David Moyes for a Premier League winning manager. Unfortunately for West Ham, you can't exactly tell the difference between the two managers yet as the Hammers are yet to pick up a single point in the Premier League, as fans are already querying the huge wages Pellegrini is on.

It seems that £100 million worth of talent is also yet to be justified and worst of all, West Ham have appeared to miss out on a gem of a player in the form of James Maddison - who is valued at £19.8 million on Transfermarkt.

With Manuel Lanzini's absence impacting West Ham massively thus far this season, James Maddison proved last season and yet again this season why he would have been an outstanding player for the Hammers but is now on the rise with Leicester instead.

Many believed that his 15 goals and 11 assists in all competitions would have been a one-season wonder last season but already in the Premier League, Maddison is bossing his stuff in midfielder for the Foxes. Instead, West Ham opted for the unproven option and spent double the amount Leicester did on Maddison to secure the services of Filipe Anderson.

The Brazilian has yet to demonstrate exactly why he cost so much money, as even the simple things like working hard and tracking back seen to be something the former Lazio man can't do.

They had a window of opportunity to sign James Maddison but they blow it, what a deal that looks to be already for Leicester.

Should West Ham have pursued James Maddison... Let us know!
