‘Please Levy, just make this happen’ – Tottenham fans react to promising transfer update on Twitter

The resident Lilywhites in the Transfer Tavern have been encouraged by recent reports which claim the club are edging closer to making their first acquisition of the January window.

The Tottenham supporters have spent the majority of the transfer window calling for Pochettino to make a quality signing, and until now their cries have fallen on deaf ears. However, according to The Daily Telegraph, they are closing in on the signing of PSG winger Lucas Moura in a deal which could be worth £22 million.

The same report claims that Moura has visited Tottenham’s training ground ahead of a proposed move to North-London, so it seems more than likely that the Brazilian will be playing his trade in Tottenham white by the end of the month.

If Moura does indeed arrive at Tottenham, he will arrive with a huge reputation despite the fact he has been frozen out of Unai Emery’s plans this season, with competition from Angel Di Maria, Neymar, Julian Draxler and Kylian Mbappe proving too strong for the former Sao Paulo prospect.

The strength in competition has limited Moura to only 79 minutes of competitive football in all-competitions since the start of the season, but his lack of game time has certainly not deterred any excitement from the Spurs supporters.

Although a handful of fans are reluctant to discuss the merits of the transfer until it’s been officially been confirmed by the club, plenty of supporters have taken to Twitter to express their delight and urge the club to conclude negotiations as soon as possible.

Here’s what some of the Spurs faithful have had to say about the potential signing of Lucas Moura…
