‘Please, Roman Abramovich’ – Chelsea fans issue major demand after poor display against Arsenal

It was a disappointing night on Wednesday for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern. Though they were hopeful of their side beating Arsenal at the Emirates, the Blues fell short on the night – and they missed out on a place in the Carabao Cup final as a result.

It was another blow in what has been a disappointing season so far for the Blues, and it’s fair to say that there are a few frustrated faces in the Chelsea section of the Transfer Tavern today.

The Blues lacked a lot on the night, but perhaps the most significant area of concern was in the attack. With Alvaro Morata injured, the Blues were left short in the attack. In general, it was a pretty lacklustre display from Conte’s men – with nobody covering themselves in glory. As has often been the case this season, Chelsea lacked firepower – leading the fans over on Twitter to issue a demand to Roman Abramovich and the Chelsea board.

Unsurprisingly, the Blues on Twitter are desperate for their side to land a striker before January comes to an end, and the player they want to see is Edin Dzeko. Linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last few days, he’s a popular man in West London – and it seems as though most fans are dreaming of his arrival.

It’s fair to say that the result could have been very different if Dzeko was playing in a blue shirt, and so it’s no surprise that fans are now, unanimously, hoping for him to sign.

With one fan sending a direct plea to Roman Abramovich, take a look at what a few Chelsea fans have been saying below…
