Pochettino eyeing cut rate deal for perfect Spurs fit

The Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are growing tired of coming into the bar day-after-day without a signing being announced in north London as all those around them plough on with their business.

One name getting a lot of Spurs fans here in the bar excited is that of Everton’s Ross Barkley. Talk surrounding a move for the England international, whose relationship with Toffees manager Ronald Koeman looked at breaking point at the end of the season, had calmed in recent weeks however, there are reports suggesting a move could still be on.

According to reports from The Sun, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino remains interested in a move for the playmaker, who scored past the eventual runners up on the opening day of the Premier League season last time out.

While he feels that Barkley would be a great fit in his exciting Tottenham side, a sentiment echoed by all here in the Tavern – even the landlord, the club are not willing to fork out the £50m Everton are asking, meaning a cut rate deal would have to be struck if any move were to materialise.
