Pochettino happy to offload Danny Rose this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be prepared to offload one of their players this summer, despite not having the ability to sign a replacement.

According to a report in The Daily Mirror, Danny Rose could be allowed to make an exit from north London, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Schalke both interested.

The England international has fallen out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino and has seen his place in the side in doubt after he was left out of the squad for their trip to Newcastle United at the weekend.

The 28-year-old, who is valued at £27million (via Transfermarkt) is not thought to be part of the Argentine’s long-term plans for Spurs, with Ben Davies being preferred as his first choice, whilst the likes of Kyle Walker-Peters could be considered as a suitable backup.

The Verdict:

A move would be good for Rose as he would look to get his career back on track, with the fallout at Tottenham having also affected his time in an England shirt.

The left-back was second choice when it came to the Three Lions squad for their World Cup, despite a season earlier looking as though he would be one of the names guaranteed to be on the team sheet.

However, it could become a mistake for Spurs to let him go, should Davies suffer an injury and with Tottenham not being able to replace him with the experience a Premier League campaign needs.
