The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for their side to secure a third win on the bounce against Man City this weekend. After a tough spell last month, the Lilywhites appear to be bouncing back nicely, having won against Stoke City and Brighton in the last week.
Despite the fine performances, though, particularly against Brighton, not everything was perfect. One player that has drawn a lot of criticism in the Transfer Tavern since the game is Mousa Sissoko.
The Frenchman has found a more regular role in the Spurs first team this season, and that’s been with good reason. For the most part, he has been consistent, solid and reliable in the heart of the midfield. In recent weeks, though, he has struggled.
Particularly against Brighton he couldn’t hold onto the ball, he offered little going forward and his general contributions simply weren’t up to par. Against Man City this weekend, then, there’s only one choice for Pochettino.
Tottenham have a number of other players to call upon for the game, with Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele or even Fernando Llorente likely to put in more of a shift than the Frenchman. He’s still a useful player, but it’s time for Spurs to drop Sissoko – agreed?
