Lilywhites fans here in the Tavern are getting fed-up with the current state of their side, having undone any hard-work that’s been created from the early parts of the season. The festive period has been one to forget so far for Mauricio Pochettino and his men, with the North London Derby loss triggering a mini-crisis that’s resulted in only 2 points being taken from a possible 4 games.
Although things haven’t exactly been in the highest of spirits in recent times, fanatics here in the Tavern have loved the legacy that Pochettino has built since he took over at White Hart Lane, with one of his specialities having been to provide the stepping stone for young talent to progress.
The Argentine showed early signs of his eye for youthful exuberance when he signed England international Dele Alli from League 1 side Milton Keynes Dons in the first year of the job, and hasn’t stopped there with his most recent harvest being the rise in-form of Spurs youth product Harry Winks, on his way to gaining a first England call-up.
After securing qualification from the ‘group of death’ Tottenham have now been given the luxury of displaying whatever team they desire in their final game against Apoel Nicosia, with the result having no effect on their future in the competition, providing key players with much-needed rest that enables the youngsters a chance to showcase their skills.
The next Harry Winks to be discovered tonight?
So without further ado, here’s a look at 2 Spurs youth products who could be about to make their breakthrough.
