Pochettino opens up on Tottenham’s Deadline Day transfer plans

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty happy with their squad…

Despite a poor start to the season, Tottenham have really turned things around over the last few weeks – and a dominant victory over Chelsea earlier in the month really put down a marker for the Lilywhites’ aspirations.

A squad with the perfect balance of youth and experience, the Tottenham fans in the pub are hoping for a quiet Deadline Day – and it would appear as though Mauricio Pochettino is of the same opinion.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s game with Sunderland, as per ESPN, Pochettino said: “It’s not easy but we’re open. We don’t have much time left to sign players” he said, before adding “I’m happy with the squad”.

Pressed to say how likely it is that Tottenham may do a deal, the Argentine said: “[There is a] 0.01% [chance]!”

Mauricio Pochettino seems fairly adamant that Tottenham won’t be busy on Deadline Day, but as is so often the case, anything can happen!

It is no surprise that Tottenham aren’t looking to sign anyone, of course, given how impressive Pochettino’s core group of players have been this season. Dele Alli, in particular, has been spectacular – and the Lilywhites have come into a good run of form at just the right time. Their last defeat came way back in early December, and Tottenham have looked like a different team ever since.
