Pochettino: Pay the money for this star, he’s worth it

The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing more and more concerned by the minute, as their club still haven’t brought in any new players.

Our landlord is quite a difficult man to please.

He has never shied away from the fact that he thinks the money that clubs like Manchester United spend at times, mostly on players who don’t work out, is ridiculous.

However, he also believes that Tottenham, having made no signings in this transfer window, are being equally as ridiculous.

Whether you agree with Danny Rose’s comments about his employers or not, the one point the landlord completely agrees with is that they need to stop buying players whose names you need to google.

Thankfully the player they have recently been linked with isn’t one of them.

Davinson Sanchez burst onto the scene last season as a part of the Ajax side that made it all the way to the Europa League final against Manchester United.

The Colombian centre-back has been linked with a host of top clubs around Europe but reports have come out recently that are suggesting the player wants to join Tottenham.

The report from the Telegraph has revealed that Spurs are preparing a £28 million bid for the player, despite Ajax wanting to hold out for £35 million.

Just spend the money, you’ve saved enough.

A difference of £7 million is nothing in this market and considering Mauricio Pochettino would be getting one of the brightest young prospects in Europe right now, it seems worth the punt.

The landlord understands Tottenham’s approach in saving money and also understands the fans like it that way.

But the club is seriously running out of time here.
