Pochettino reportedly keen on big money addition as Tottenham eye swoop on lynchpin

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bring in a number of additions to help them finally lift a trophy with fans in the Transfer Tavern watching with expectant eyes.

Spurs came up short once again this season, having been beaten in the FA Cup semi-final by Manchester United and their place in the top-four could come down to the wire. Mauricio Pochettino wants his side to compete on all fronts next year and is believed to have already started planning his transfer targets.

The Sun are claiming Matthijs de Ligt is one of those that the Argentine has identified to help improve his team, although they would need to spend at least £45million to lure him away from Ajax. The teenager has impressed and is being lined-up as a long-term replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who is set to depart from White Hart Lane this summer.

Rated as one of Europe’s brightest talents, the 18-year-old has already made over 50 appearances for his club and has been capped five times for the Netherlands. Tottenham will have to compete with Barcelona and north London rivals Arsenal but will remain confident they can land him.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited that they are chasing De Ligt and will be hoping the club can make him theirs, with locals believing he can be one for the future as well as having the ability to make an impact from the beginning.
