Pochettino should consider a move for this right-back after Walker’s departure

The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern tonight have mixed feelings about the departure of Kyle Walker.

It has been confirmed that Tottenham’s Kyle Walker has transferred to Premier League rivals, Manchester City for a fee in the region of £53 million including add-ons.

With Walker departing, Pochettino will no doubt be looking for a suitable replacement, despite having Kieran Trippier waiting in the wings.

If Pochettino does begin a hunt for a replacement for Kyle Walker, the first name on his list should be PSG’s Serge Aurier.

The Ivory Coast international is one of the best right backs in the world at only 24-years-old and whilst he may not possess the pace going forward that Walker has, he can still be a great addition to the side.

His time with PSG has won him, two Ligue one titles, three French cups, three French league cups and three French super cups.

Aurier is a winner and taking that winning mentality to a Spurs side who always seem to fall short of their goals could be a huge boost to the whole side.

Our landlord reckons Spurs have got the steal of the century so far by managing to get £50 million for a pretty average right back in Kyle Walker.

PSG won’t charge nearly that much for Aurier, most likely in the region of about £20-£30 million which means there is another £20-£30 million left to be put into more transfers or for well-deserved pay rises for players like Alli and Kane.
