Pochettino should consider starting this man more to guide Spurs towards the title

Spurs delivered arguably their performance of the season in midweek with a well earned point at Real Madrid, and despite not winning the game, it’s certainly made people sit up and take notice.

The London club have been struggling at Wembley again in general, but away from home and in Europe they have looked excellent, and their performance this week only backed that statement up.

Our landlord her in the Tavern was impressed, and he was particularly drawn to the performance of one player, who took his chance and gave Mauricio Pochettino real food for thought with his display in the Bernabeu. That player was Spanish striker and summer signing Fernand Llorente, and he could well have played himself into the manager’s plans going forward.

The big, experienced strike ace put in an excellent showing with Dele Alli missing, and it was clear to see he was comfortable playing at that level.

It was this reason that Pochettino brought him in during the summer in the first place, and despite a slow start to his Spurs career, he can use this week just gone as a real platform.

With Alli returning for Premier League action, Llorente could well force the England youngster out of the team if he can continue his performances. Not only this, but Pochettino might well be able to come up with a way to fit Alli, Kane, and Llorente into the team, making them even more of an attacking threat.

Spurs fans, what do you think? Should Llorente be given more of a chance? Let us know your thoughts!
