Pochettino tells Tottenham not to sell Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur could be about to lose one of their star players this summer, however, Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear that he does not want the club to sell him.

According to a report by The Daily Express, Christian Eriksen is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, with the French giants prepared to make an offer of £100million to sign him before the current transfer window shuts.

Pochettino has absolutely no interest in letting his playmaker leave the club, as he knows that he will not be able to find a replacement until January, with the club not making any additions this summer.

The Argentine has told owner Daniel Levy that they can not cash in on the 26-year-old, despite talks being drawn-out over a new contract with the north London outfit.

The Denmark international starred for Spurs last season with 14 goals and ten assists and continued to play a key role during their opening day 2-1 victory against Newcastle United at the weekend in the Premier League.

The Verdict:

Tottenham will be desperate to keep hold of Eriksen this summer, regardless of the circumstances they currently find themselves in.

Spurs are still hopeful the Dane will sign a new and improved long-term deal to remain with them to extend his current contract that has two-year’s left to run.

However, Pochettino will not be able to afford to lose someone of his quality this summer, as they will need to fill the void that would be left by him with someone already in the squad, before having to splash out in the January transfer window, which could be difficult.
