All in all, it was a pretty successful Tuesday night for the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern. It started horribly, with Juventus picking up two goals in the opening 10 minutes, but the Lilywhites forced their way back into the game.
As he often has this season, Harry Kane got them back into the game, before an impressive Christian Eriksen goal helped secure a draw for Tottenham in Turin. Ahead of the game, fans were fearing the worst, but what they actually got was a spirited and determined performance from the North London-based outfit.
It was a pretty solid game for most of Tottenham players, and they certainly deserve a lot of praise. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
To the contrary, one or two players really struggled, and one such example was Serge Aurier. The Ivorian looked out of place in an otherwise solid Tottenham defence, and he was exploited on more than one occasion by the pacy Juventus attack.
Unsurprisingly, his poor display has not gone unnoticed amongst Tottenham fans, with supporters taking to Twitter to reveal their frustration with his display.
With one fan describing his performance as ‘terrible’, it’s clear that the Ivorian has a lot of improving to do. Take a look at what has been said below…
Hi @SpursOfficial – Have we reported the 4th official for not being able to stick the number 24 on his board? I assume that's the case as surely Poch wasn't the only person in the universe to realise how much of a pointless liability Aurier is. #JUVTOT #COYS

What a result. Deserved more. Aurier should never be near our starting 11 ever again. Dembele is the best thing since sliced bread. And I’m absolutely buzzing for Wembley! #COYS

Get Trippier on. Aurier's an absolute liability tonight #COYS

Biggest positive to take away from tonight is that Aurier is suspended for the second leg. #COYS
