Possible boost for Tottenham with lynchpin back in contention for final day

Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Tavern are extremely delighted with how this season has panned out, as they’ve managed to secure a Champions League spot.

Interestingly, Spurs looked like title contenders towards the start of the season but this soon fizzled out as they’ve now had to settle for third position at best. And, with the final day of the Premier League season approaching, they’ll be hoping that they can secure all three points and third position by beating Leicester City in front of their home fans.

Although, many of our local residents will be hoping that Eric Dier is back in the squad, as he missed Spurs’ last Premier League game against Newcastle due to illness. Encouragingly, fitness expert Ben Dinnery revealed some positive news for Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter.

According to Dinnery, Eric Dier is back in contention for the final game of the season.

Supporters will be delighted to see Eric Dier back in contention for their final game of the Premier League campaign as he has been one of the standout performers thus far. And, with victory sealing third position for Spurs in the Premier League table, Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to have the Englishman back in his squad. So, having established himself as one of the most important players in the squad so far this season, he’ll be looking to insert his dominance on proceedings once again.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Eric Dier could have a huge impact against Leicester City if he manages to make it into the starting lineup, as his defensive and passing abilities will be crucial against a dangerous side. Although, Mauricio Pochettino may look to give a couple of the club’s fringe players a chance, so Dier may have to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench.
