Potential consequences of Everton signing Piroe - Everton

It’s safe to say that Everton fans haven’t really been able to witness many youngsters in action in the current campaign, as Marco Silva continues to turn to the Toffees’ struggling senior members.

So, supporters may be slightly baffled to see that their side are reportedly interested in signing a 19-year-old, as according to Calciomercato, Everton are in the race to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Joel Piroe.

The forward is one of the brightest prospects currently at the Dutch club and he’s managed to score 10 goals in 19 appearances for PSV’s Under-21 side this season, so he’s definitely one to watch for the future.

With that being said, here are the potential consequences of Everton signing Piroe…

Marcel Brands was PSV’s sporting director prior to his move to Goodison Park, so he will play a key part in securing a potential deal for the youngster with his close contacts possibly coming in handy.

Joel Piroe has been scoring goals for fun over in Holland in the current campaign and he has all the ingredients to become a star in the future, with his pace, strength and finishing ability making him the perfect striker.

Supporters may not be too familiar with Fraser Hornby as he’s only made one first-team appearance up until this point in his young career, which came against Apollon Limassol in the Europa League back in 2017.

However, he’s arguably one of the club’s brightest prospects and he’s looked unstoppable at times in the youth ranks, having produced three goals in the current campaign, despite spending a period of time out on the sidelines.

Hornby would be gutted to see another young striker join the club as it could potentially damage his chances of breaking into the first-team again.

Everton fans, do you think you should be looking to invest in young players?
