Most Manchester United supporters are probably still in disbelief about what their side achieved in the Champions League last night, as Marcus Rashford made a name for himself in Paris.
Of course, last night’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain was memorable for everyone involved but securing the services of reported target (as per the Daily Telegraph) Jadon Sancho could top that, as United are preparing to fight Paris Saint-Germain for the winger, which could lead to him becoming the first £100m English footballer.
However, the Red Devils’ pursuit of the youngster has taken a negative turn, as according to The Sun, Jadon Sancho is set to snub Manchester United and stay in Germany.
Manchester United already have a number of attackers at their disposal but Sancho has the potential and ability to take them places, so fans won’t be too pleased to hear news of the potential snub.
With that being said, here are the potential consequences of Sancho rejecting Man United…
ED WOODWARD INVESTS IN CRUCIAL POSITIONS
Ed Woodward splashed the cash back in the summer of last year as he managed to bring in the likes of Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant, but things were muted in January so perhaps United are preparing for a busy summer.
The Red Devils need strengthen in a number of positions, with a striker, right-back and central defender required if United are to build for a successful season next time round. Indeed, Romelu Lukaku is the club’s only No. 9, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are getting on with age, and United are in need of a world-class central defender.
Sancho operates as a winger, which is a position that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already has covered, so Woodward may look to spend the potential £100 million on strengthening in more important areas if Sancho rejects a move.
ALEXIS SANCHEZ OVERJOYED
Alexis Sanchez just hasn’t been able to live up to expectations since moving to Manchester United as he’s gone from being Arsenal’s best players to just one of United’s attackers.
It’s safe to say that the South American will be overjoyed with Sancho’s supposed snub as the Englishman’s arrival at Old Trafford could have spelled the end of Sanchez’s Manchester United career, with the likes of Antony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford all ahead of him in the pecking order at this moment in time.
Manchester United fans, would Sancho be a better option than Martial and Rashford?
