Potential consequences of Liverpool signing Bruno Fernandes

Liverpool weren’t quite at their best against Bayern Munich last time out as they failed to find the back of the net, which has now made the second leg a whole lot more important.

Jurgen Klopp really has worked wonders since rocking up at Anfield as the Reds are starting to reach the heights that many hoped they would, with silverware in the Premier League and the Champions League still a possibility.

Interestingly, it appears as if the Reds are eyeing a possible swoop, as according to Correio de Manha (via The Mirror), Liverpool are potential buyers of Bruno Fernandes this summer.

Of course, bringing in Fernandes would have a number of positives but it could also have an impact on a number of players that are already at the club, which may not go down well.

Nevertheless, here are the potential consequences of Liverpool signing Bruno Fernandes in the summer…

JURGEN KLOPP LANDS PHILIPPE COUTINHO REPLACEMENT

One problem for Liverpool in recent transfer windows has been finding a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona back in January of last year.

However, Klopp would finally land his replacement for the Brazilian if he manages to secure the services of Fernandes, as he operates in an attacking midfield role and has shown that he can produce a number of valuable contributions, with an impressive 21 goals and 11 assists to his name at this moment in time.

Indeed, the Portugal international has all the ingredients to become a star in the Premier League, with his passing, finishing and dribbling ability soon making fans forget all about Coutinho.

ADAM LALLANA LEAVES ANFIELD

Adam Lallana has been a spectator for large parts of the current campaign as Klopp already has a number of midfielders at his disposal, and Lallana hasn’t really offered much on the field.

Sadly, the Englishman operates in exactly the same position as Fernandes, so his potential arrival would inevitably force Lallana to leave Anfield as he would fall even further down the pecking order.
