Liverpool fans will feel relieved after yesterday’s close encounter as a late Toby Alderweireld own goal saved the day for the Reds. Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s side now find themselves back at the top of the Premier League table, but Manchester City do have a game in hand.
So, with the youngster reportedly hinting at a move away from Germany at some point in the future, here are the potential consequences of Liverpool making a move and signing the youngster…
FSG SECURE A PLAYMAKER
The one position that has let Liverpool down in the current campaign has been the No.10 role as they’ve had nobody to fill it in recent times at Anfield. Indeed, Adam Lallana has spent most of his time on the substitutes’ bench and Jurgen Klopp now operates with three central midfielders in the middle of midfield.
Of course, Havertz would cost FSG a lot of money as he’s currently valued at £58.5 million (by Transfermarkt), but he could definitely fill the playmaker void as he’s shown he can score and produce on a regular basis.
PHILIPPE COUTINHO REPLACED
Liverpool fans will agree that Philippe Coutinho leaving back in January of last year is still haunting the club slightly as they’ve lacked that extra bit of creativity in the final third at times.
But, Havertz has the ability to match the Brazilian and the potential to go one better than the former Red as he’s arguably one of the hottest prospects in the whole of world football. He’s produced an impressive 13 goals and seven assists in all competitions in the current campaign and he’s only 19-years-old.
