Potential consequences of Liverpool signing Luka Jovic

Liverpool would love nothing more than to pip Manchester City to the Premier League title, having come on leaps and bounds up until this point under Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds have the perfect opportunity to give fans exactly what they’ve been craving in the current campaign, as they’re still in with a shout of securing silverware in the Premier League and the Champions League.

Interestingly, it appears as if Merseyside club are eyeing a possible summer raid, as according to Bild (via Teamtalk), Liverpool are one of the major suitors to sign Luka Jovic in the summer.

Indeed, there’s plenty of positives to bringing the in-form forward to Anfield, but it could also have a negative impact on players that are already at the club.

Therefore, here are the potential consequences of Liverpool signing Luka Jovic in the summer…

STURRIDGE GETS SOLD

Daniel Sturridge has spent most of his time on the substitutes’ bench in the current campaign as he just can’t seem to work his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans, as the Reds currently have arguably one of the world’s best attacks.

Indeed, the Englishman is too good to be wasting away behind the scenes but hasn’t quite shown enough quality to secure a regular place.

Therefore, securing the services of Jovic would more than likely result in Sturridge being sold as Divock Origi is already in front of him in the pecking order, so he wouldn’t even make the bench.

FSG COMPLETE LIVERPOOL’S ATTACK

FSG have made a number of big moves over the years and will continue to fund plenty more signings in years to come, with Jovic possibly being the next on their growing list.

The Reds already have arguably one of the most dangerous attacks in world football, but it’s safe to say that it still isn’t complete as Roberto Firmino hasn’t exactly been prolific, despite displaying world-class qualities.

Indeed, FSG would complete Liverpool’s attack by securing the services of Jovic as he’s produced an incredible 19 goals and five assists in 27 appearances this season. So, with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah on either side of the Serbian international, there would never be a shortage of goals and quality.
