Liverpool weren’t quite at their best against Spurs last time out but they still managed to secure all three points. Indeed, the Reds displayed the spirit of champions but there’s still a long way to go with Manchester City firmly in the driving seat if they secure another win tonight.
Jurgen Klopp really has worked wonders since rocking up at Anfield and the fans will forever be grateful for his efforts, but the one thing that’s been missing is a piece of silverware which is why this season is so important.
However, it appears as if the German could experience even more success on the transfer front, as according to L’Equipe (via Mirror), Lyon are ready to sell Nabil Fekir in the summer, with a gentleman’s agreement potentially taking him closer to finally completing a move to Liverpool.
With that in mind, here are the potential consequences of Fekir moving to Merseyside…
LIVERPOOL FINALLY LAND TARGET
Of course, Reds supporters were devastated as the Frenchman was arguably one of the hottest topics in European football at the time, and his creativity would have worked wonders at Anfield this season.
So, Liverpool would feel a great sense of accomplishment if they finally manage to land their target in the summer transfer window as it’s clear to see they’re big fans of the forward.
NO.10 VOID FILLED
Liverpool have done tremendously well in Philippe Coutinho’s absence as many fans feared the worst when he joined Barcelona in January of last year. Indeed, Klopp switching to three in midfield has certainly benefited the Reds throughout this season and in the last campaign, but one problem has been the lack of a creative spark at times.
Fekir would fill Liverpool’s current No.10 void as he operates in exactly the same position as Coutinho did and he has all the attacking ingredients to take Liverpool’s attack to the next level. His passing, finishing and aerial ability makes him a dangerous player from open play and set-pieces, so the Reds really would be in heaven.
