Manchester City fans are probably still yet to get over the fact that their side failed to get the job done at the Etihad on Wednesday night, as they now find themselves out of Europe. 

Of course, the Citizens will be looking to strengthen in the summer to avoid a repeat of Wednesday night in the next campaign, with progression in the Champions League being a must for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Interestingly, it appears as if the Citizens are eyeing a possible swoop, as according to Calciomercato (via Read Liverpool), Manchester City are potential suitors for Joao Felix.

PEP GUARDIOLA SECURES LONG-TERM DAVID SILVA REPLACEMENT

David Silva has impressed once again in the current campaign but he may not have many years left in him at this level as he’s set to turn 34 next year, so a long-term replacement is definitely needed.

Felix could just be the perfect replacement for the Spaniard as he’s only 19-years-old and has already shown he can perform at a high level, having produced 16 goals and nine assists, including three goals and one assist in Europe.

He’s a special talent who has all the ingredients to become one of the world’s best.

Sheikh Mansour will need to splash the cash if he’s to bring the youngster to the Etihad as his release clause is reportedly (as per Calciomercato) set at €120 million (£103.8 million).

It’s safe to say that paying that amount of money may be worth it in the future if he reaches his full potential, and he’s shown more than enough to suggest he could slot right into Manchester City’s side.
