Manchester United fans will be praying that their current injury crisis has no affect on their quest for silverware in the FA Cup, as they’re set to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow.
Indeed, injuries are a major worry at any point in a season but experiencing a number of issues at the same time is the last thing fans would want, especially with key games on the horizon.
Although, it looks as if the Red Devils currently have their eye on a possible summer raid, as according to The Sun, Manchester United have joined the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot.
It’s safe to say that bringing him to Old Trafford wouldn’t exactly cost much as he’s available on a free in the summer, so here are the potential consequences of the Frenchman moving to Manchester…
ED WOODWARD SECURES PERFECT POGBA PARTNER
Ed Woodward faces a difficult task in bringing Rabiot to Manchester as he’s attracted the attention of a number of clubs already this year, including the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs.
The 23-year-old would be the perfect partner for Paul Pogba as they have previous experience from playing together on the international stage with France and Rabiot is a more defensive-minded player, which would give Pogba more freedom to push forward and influence the game in the final third. Supporters have already witnessed Pogba’s quality in the attacking third of the field, so giving him even more licence can only mean good things.
OLD TRAFFORD DELIGHT
Manchester United fans may feel slightly underwhelmed when it comes to thinking about the midfielders currently at their disposal, as Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic have impressed but they’ve often fallen into Pogba’s shadow
Rabiot’s potential arrival would create a huge amount of excitement and happiness at Old Trafford as he’s a world-class midfielder with plenty of potential and the ability to take United’s midfield to the next level.
Manchester fans, do you think signing Rabiot is a must in the summer? Surely he’s a much better option than Herrera and Matic…
