Tottenham Hotspur managed to secure an incredible 3-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League round of 32 tie earlier on in the week.
Spurs have been simply sensational without the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli in recent weeks as they continue to defy expectations under Mauricio Pochettino.
Although, it appears as if the North London club are already looking towards the summer transfer window, as according to Tuttomercatoweb, Spurs have contacted Franck Kessie’s agent about a potential summer move, and his current club AC Milan want £35 million for his services.
Kessie has established himself as one of the rising midfield stars in Europe over the past season or so, but his potential arrival may not go down well with everyone at the club.
Therefore, here are the potential consequences of Tottenham Hotspur signing Franck Kessie in the summer…
DANIEL LEVY SECURES DEMBELE REPLACEMENT
Spurs are still in need of a replacement for Mousa Dembele, who moved to China last month.
Daniel Levy would secure the perfect replacement for the Belgian by bringing Franck Kessie to the club as he offers everything that Dembele could and more. He is very strong on the ball and rarely misses a tackle, as well as being a dominant force in defensive and attacking areas, with goals and assists also present.
So, the London club would bag themselves a well-rounded midfielder who has all the ingredients to become a future star in the Premier League, with his potential arrival making fans forget all about Dembele.
MOUSSA SISSOKO DITCHED
Moussa Sissoko has been a dominant force in the middle of midfield in the current campaign and will play a big part from here on in until the end of the season.
But, with Harry Winks already establishing himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet, perhaps Spurs will decide to ditch the Frenchman as Kessie would more than likely slot right into Pochettino’s starting lineup.
Interestingly, the Spurs midfielder has already been linked (as per Calciomercato) with a move away from the English capital, so sealing a deal for Kessie may be the final nail in his coffin.
