Tottenham Hotspur fans are probably still partying at this moment in time after an unforgettable night at the Etihad which saw Tottenham book a place in the semi-final of the Champions League.
Harry Kane’s injury appears to have spurred the rest of Mauricio Pochettino’s players on as they continue to grind out positive results in his absence. But, in reality, Spurs still need to make a number of signings in the summer.
It appears as if they’re not waiting around, as according to Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Lazio’s Luiz Felipe who operates at the heart of the defence.
The Brazilian has made a name for himself over in Italy in the current campaign, so here are the potential consequences of Spurs landing him this summer…
SECURE TOBY ALDERWEIRELD REPLACEMENT
Toby Alderweireld’s future is in doubt at this moment in time as Manchester United are reportedly (as per The Sun) ready to trigger his £25 million release clause.
Felipe is one of the rising stars in the Serie A and he’s managed to come out on top against a number of quality attackers in the current campaign, so he’s more than ready to make the step up. He may not be on the same level as the Belgian at this moment in time but he certainly has the potential to fill the large void.
BARGAIN FOR DANIEL LEVY
Daniel Levy has been afraid to splash the cash over the past two transfer windows as he’s failed to add to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, so it’s about time he emptied his pockets.
However, he may be able to secure one of Spurs’ targets for a bargain price, as according to Daily Mail, Felipe is likely to cost around £17 million, which seems like an incredibly low price considering he has so much potential.
So, Levy can breathe a sigh of relief as it looks as if the defender won’t cost too much.
